Now more than ever, religious freedom is an issue of urgent importance in Australia and around the world. Though we continue to work our hardest to see religious freedom protected and promoted, we are deeply aware that "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain. Unless the Lord guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain." (Psalm 127)
We would ask that you join us in praying for the following over the coming month:
1) For the Ruddock review: that panel members might be wise and judicious in their deliberations and recommendations. Please also pray for the administrative staff that they would be strengthened to cope with the immense workload and time pressure of the inquiry.
2) For the cabinet, the government party room, and Parliament that they take the issue of religious freedom seriously and make just and fair reforms of our laws.
3) For issues of religious freedom globally, that those persecuted for their beliefs would be given consolation and that such persecution would cease. And for us Australians, that we would always uphold our suffering brothers and sisters in prayer.
4) For Freedom for Faith, that we would be provided with the connections, assistance, and financial support we need to continue to work to see religious freedom protected and promoted. And that we would be given wisdom about how to put our resources to their best use, and that we would be a voice of hope in the years ahead.
